Under the Lord's sovereign arrangement, the meetings of the church have been online and away from the meeting hall. It's not clear when the way will be clear to return to coming together in the hall and, as a result, there will be few opportunities for the church to receive your offerings to the Lord. But there are still bills to pay, so we would like to fellowship the following ways that have been set up for you to make your gifts.
When we originally set up online giving, we used both Authorize.net and PayPal. Since then, we have eliminated the Authorize.net option, because all such transactions can me handled by PayPal alone. When you make your donation and press the PROCESS DONATION button at the bottom of the page, you will be transferred to the PayPal site.
If you have a PayPal account (easy to set up if you do not already have an account), you may log in to your account and select which payment platform you want your donation to use - personal bank account, credit / debit card or accumulated PayPal balance.
If you do not have a PayPal account and do not wish to establish one, you can make your donation using a Visa or MasterCard credit card.
PayPal allows you to make credit or debit card donations even if you do not have a PayPal account. Enter the information regarding your card as requested. After your gift is processes, you will be returned to the church in Baton Rouge webpage. PayPal will charge 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction.
To make a gift using your bank account, you will have to have a PayPal account. Once logged into your account, PayPal will display a list of the funding sources you have established in your account. If you have designated a bank account to be associated with your PayPal account, that should be displayed as a funding source. If you have not established an associated bank account, you may do so at this time.
You may have also associated a credit or debit card with your PayPal account. If so, that will also be displayed as a funding source and you may choose to make your gift using your card.
If you have transferred funds to your PayPal account or if you have received funds into your PayPal account that have not yet been transferred to your associated bank account, you may have a balance that is displayed as a funding source. You may choose to make your donation from this balance.
Your bank may be able to transfer money directly to the church's bank account using the Zelle app on your smartphone or from the bank's web site. The email address associated with the church's account is cfo@chibr.org. There is no fee for sending your gift using Zelle.

Many of us are using online shopping more and more, especially as we shelter at home. If you use Amazon to make your purchases, they will donate a small percentage of each purchase you make to the charity of your choice if you make your purchase through Amazon Smile. Instead of going to www.amazon.com, go to smile.amazon.com. Once on this page, you will be asked to select your charity. Please select The Church in Baton Rouge.
Be sure to bookmark the page, because only purchases made through the Smile site will be used to calculate your donation. They will not assume that you meant to use the Smile site.
