I am pleased to say that I have been a regenerated believer in Christ since 1971. I will be forever grateful for the many fervent prayers offered by the brothers and sisters in the local churches, petitioning the Lord Jesus to raise up many seekers and to draw them to Himself. In response to their prayer and the Lord’s divine operation, I was one of many that were literally shaken out of my sleep and drawn to the living Christ. One March morning at 6:01 a.m. a large earthquake measuring 7.1 on the Richter Scale woke up the residents of the San Fernando Valley, located in Southern California. The quake was terrifying but caused me for the first time to really consider the meaning of human life. I began to pray to God in a groping way asking Him for answers to the many questions that now began to burden me. Within two weeks, I heard the gospel from the New Testament. Previously, I had heard that Jesus died on the cross. But, the thought never before entered my mind and considerations that Jesus actually wanted to enter into me and give me the life of God. This was the answer to all my prayers. I was so happy and thanked God for listening to me. God was no longer merely an objective God in the heavens; He now lived in me.
A few years later in 1974, when I began attending a university, I met many young people like myself that loved the Lord. I was very touched by their consecration to the Lord and their living speaking from the Scriptures. It was so wonderful to see the oneness and reality of the Body of Christ actually practiced. Every believer in the meetings had a portion of Christ to speak and share with all the other members. As I began to meet with the believers in the church in Los Angeles, the words of the Bible became spirit and life to me (John 6:63). I also received much shepherding from them and was greatly helped to realize the secret of living Christ. I was helped to know by experience, that we can only live by Christ if we have freshly enjoyed Him today (John 6:57).
As I continued to meet with the local churches, I began to realize that the real riches of their ministering of Christ had their source from the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. The Bible is an unsearchably rich storehouse and the ministry of these two servants of God are full of mine shafts for us to dig out and enjoy all the treasures contained in the Bible. I am so appreciative that God’s eternal purpose (Ephesians 3:11) and the way He carries out His purpose, His plan (Ephesians 3:9), were revealed to me. Praise the Lord, that through the Spirit, God is revealing “things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard and which have not come up in man’s heart; things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9)
